Play Stands

This is our favorite play stand! It is made in the USA of sturdy solid pine and has a wide base for extra stability yet is still quite easy for young children to handle. Used in imaginative play, Play Stands become an incredible spring board for creativity when combined with fabric and a few simple props. One stand becomes a village store, puppet theater or cafe and can serve as a shelf for toys at the end of the day. For playing house, put two stands together and enclose the space with a Giant Silk or Building Cloth fastened with our Wood Play Clips. One stand measures 36"H x 39"W x 12"D; a graceful Canopy atop a pair of stands creates a space 56"H x 52"W x 39"D. Fabric and clips available separately. Ages 3 to 10.

Cotton Gauze Building Cloths

A sheer yet durable fabric, in soft pastels with a translucent quality. Available in your choice of Rainbow or Solids. These large play cloths are versatile and popularly used for covering play stands, draping windows, dressing up, and building colorful forts. Use together with our wood Play Clips.  Plenty big at 50"x70" - 100% cotton. Ages 3 and up.

Wood Play Clip

Hand carved wooden clip for gently yet firmly fastening our Building Cloths or Giant Rainbow Silk to play stands, tables, small branches and such. Children have fun enclosing areas for play spaces, forts and hideaways and our play clip is easy for little hands to squeeze. Ages 3 and up.

Rainbow Silk Play Cloths

Hand-dyed blended bands of rose, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The small silk is wonderful for veils, capes, sashes, and scarves. The giant size can frame a window or drape a playstand, when secured with Wood Play Clips. Hemmed, 100% silk. Ages 3 and up.

Gossamer Gauze Scarves

Delicate and translucent these open weave, light weight cotton gauze scarves move and dance at the hint of a breeze. Use for draping, dramatic play and dressing up. Make colorful shawls, dancing skirts with several scarves and elastic or especially beautiful veils tied with a finger knitted cord or yarn. Hemmed and 32" square in a wide array of colors!

Please note: Because it is such an open weave fabric, Gossamer Gauze is not recommended for rough play. A simple alternative for any swashbucklers you might know is our denser Undyed Cotton Gauze or Gauzy Chiffon Silk, both readily accept dyes.

Plant Dyed Play Silks

Shimmering lightweight play silks, dyed with nature's essence. Wonderful for dressing-up, creative play, the nature table, wrapping gifts and more. Hemmed scarf, 35" x 35" Ages 3 and up.

Tidy the House

Cleaning up is fun with this set. Sized just right, hardwood handle is 8.5" long with horsehair bristles. High quality bright blue metal dustpan is 9"x6.5". Ages 2 and up.
