Ashford Corriedale Carded Wool - Natural Colors
The Corriedale sheep is found on sheep farms all over New Zealand. Its wool has a clear even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin and felt. The sheep are well-cared for, sheared humanely and not mulesed. This beautiful all-purpose fiber is popular for both traditional wet felting as well as dry felting with a needle. Leave unspun or spin into a fine to medium woollen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale will bulk after washing and has good elasticity. Yarn spun from this fiber is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted or crocheted garments. 27-30 micron, 4.25" staple length.
Comes in long ropey lengths, about 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick, referred to as sliver but known by many as roving. One ounce measures almost 2 yards in length.
